The Ashland Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1947. We are one of over 16,000 adult and youth Kiwanis clubs worldwide in 80 nations and geographic areas. Our motto is “Serving the Children of the World”.
We are especially proud of our many fundraisers each year to raise funds in support of the Ashland School District. Funds raised help support programs including: “Student of the Month” at Ashland High School, senior student scholarships, reading and mentoring programs at elementary schools, books for school libraries, free books to elementary schools students, Postcard Buddies, essay contests, among others.
We are also proud of our sponsorship of the Ashland High School’s very active Key Club. The club schedules community service projects for the city’s schools. They also particapate in Special Olympics, Relay for Life, and fundraisers for a needy student from time to time. We also sponsor the Ashland Middle School’s Builder’s Club for elementary students. This club participates in its own fundraisers to raise money for special causes, and it partners with the Key Club in other projects.
For over 40 years, Ashland Kiwanis has offered our Holiday Flag Program, which provides the placement of American flags at nearly 300 subscribing locations on ten National Holidays.
For 16 years we have organized and managed, in partnership with the Ashland Schools Foundation, the annual Halloween Monster Dash Run for Education. Net proceeds go to the Ashland Schools Foundation who makes the funds available to Ashland’s public schools as “in-classroom” grants to support special projects or activities.
We also aid the physically and intellectually challenged athletes at Special Olympic events; we promote literacy and reading in schools; and we donate money to the Doernbecher Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program.
Membership is open to men and women who wish to respond to the needs of our community.
Our Foundation was granted 501(c)(3) status in April 2007; all donations are tax deductible.

The Objects of Kiwanis
The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis Club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver Colorado. Through the succeeding decades, they have remained unchanged.
1 – To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
2 – To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
3 – To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
4 – To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
5 – To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
6 – To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
