Ashland Kiwanis participates in a variety of programs and projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and the support of children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.
Below are projects and activities in which we are currently involved:
Monster Dash Run for Education, a series of running events to support the Ashland Schools Foundation (Monster Dash).
Holiday Flag Program, where we place American flags at subscribing local businesses and organizations on 10 National Holidays, including along Siskiyou Boulevard.
Ashland High School “Student of the Month”
Scholarship programs for seniors at the high school
Ashland High School Key Club and Builder’s Club, who volunteer at projects of the Kiwanis club, as well as develop and volunteer at their own community or school projects
Special Olympic events, such as track & field, bowling, basketball, softball, bocce ball, and Polar Plunge
Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program donation to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.

Mentoring and Literacy programs at elementary schools, including reading programs and library book programs

Go Fly A Kite. New in 2024, a project was introduced by Ashland Kiwanis for elementary children in grades 3 through 6. Kids were given kite kits to build, paint pictures on the kites, attach a tail and string, and then go fly the kite with a family member or friend at the Middle School grounds.
