Kiwanis International is a “family” of organizations that focus on teaching teenagers and young children about the responsibilities of good citizenship, community service and building future leaders.
Ashland Kiwanis sponsors the High School’s Key Club. Our Key Club independently initiates service projects and community service activities throughout the school year. Our Ashland Kiwanis Advisor works through a faculty adviser at the high school to coordinate our participation with their activities or to have them work with us on major service programs and fundraisers.
Ashland Kiwanis also sponsors the Middle School’s Builders Club. The Builder’s Club initiates service projects to support special causes. It also works in partnership with the Key Club in certain projects. Our Kiwanis Advisor works through a faculty advisor at the middle school to coordinate projects, activities and fundraisers.
We are so proud of our Key Club and Builder’s Club and their accomplishments which make our community a much better place to live. The activities listed below are representative of the many projects they are involved in each year:
Special Olympics bowling, volunteering to help with lane management, cheerleading, etc.
Volunteering at our Halloween Monster Dash fundraiser
Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Thirst Project fundraiser to help under-developed nations obtain clean water.
Attendance at Key Club District Convention to further develop leadership skills.
Fund raising to remove “plastics” from our oceans to help “save” our planet.
